 Natural Friendly Providers

Traci Marin/ Chloe Rios/Katie Tyson

Centreville OB/GYN or Reston Women’s Center

This is a small practice with three female OB/GYNs and several midwives.  They are very natural-birth friendly and deliver at Fair Oaks Hospital. My favorite group to work with! They have a high VBAC success rate. Clients love them.

Dr. James Kacedan

delivers at Fairfax Hospital

I have supported several clients who have had beautiful births with this male doctor. He provides supportive, respectful care.

Wisdom Midwifery

202-741-2500

This is a wonderful option for the low-risk woman wanting midwifery care in the hospital with back-up OB/GYNs. They deliver at GW University Hospital

This hospital and group of midwives have the best statistics in the area. (Only a 15% cesarean rate). They also have options for twin vaginal delivery and breech vaginal delivery.

Premier Birth Center

A Birth Center is a good option for someone who doesn’t want a home birth but wants a more comfortable environment than the hospital with less unnecessary interventions. High satisfaction rate with women who birth here and excellent safety record.

Ryann is my friend and wonderful midwife.

Physicians and Midwives Collaborative Practice

The midwives here are an option for low-risk women. They deliver at Inova Alexandria Hospital. Not as naturally-minded as some other practices.

A wonderful midwife who I’ve had great experience with is Stacy Stavlund

Dr. Amr Madkour

http://www.gwdocs.com/obgyn-obstetrics-gynecology/amr-madkour

Delivers at George Washington University Hospital- very supportive of natural birth. He spent time in a third world country seeing out of hospital birth so he’s more naturally-minded than most OBs.

Inova Loudon Hospital Natural Birth Center

They have the Birthing Inn which is in the hospital but right next to the hospital is the Natural Birth Center. The rooms here are like hotel rooms with a large tub to labor in if you want. This option appeals to many people because of its close proximity to the hospital. It may be a bit of a drive but it will be worth it. They have very strict criteria to use the NBC so many risk out of care.

Karen King, CNM

Arlington Women’s Center

Delivers at Virginia Hospital Center. I’ve never worked with her but hear good things.
